One-X Portal for Public Access

We currently have 1XP running on RHEL 5.1 set for public access. We are having trouble logging in to the portal in such a time when the applet loads the telephony resources. It sometime keeps loading and stays in there forever or error says you have to login in a different time. But if you will try to compare this to the internal login I mean within our network it has no problem. I tried to access the site externally but I had intermittent connections to the portal, maybe it is a connection bandwidth issue but what speed may the portal require to smoothly implement a public accessible 1XP?

I have a similar problem. When we try to login externaly, it can´t find de telephony server.
